- Do it Running This is part of the larger “Do It Sports” site; Do It Running hosts a massive list of links, as well as results, discussion boards, and columns from elite runners.
- Quad City Bike Club. Perhaps you are also a biking enthusiast. Then check out this local club for some cross training.
- Hal Higdon's On The Run. Runner's World senior writer offers his regular columns on running as well as training schedules for various race distances.
- Cool Running is a full featured running site with plenty of archived information and some interactive fun. This is a clean and easy to use site.
- Fitness Sports. This central Iowa site has an Iowa statewide calendar, news and information about running and results of many Iowa races.
- Road Race Management offers a variety of products and services for race directors, people involved in the running industry, elite athletes, and others who have a keen interest in the sport of distance running.
- The Running Room is a site for the serious and not-so-serious runner. It offers a comprehensive guide for beginners and for more serious and ambitious athletes. This site provides answers to common questions on training, strength training, nutrition, and injuries.
- The Boston Marathon, for you marathoners, has a site where you can print out an entry form. You can also check out your required qualifying time and other stats.
- USDA Forest Service unofficially has links to almost all the US national forests for your running, hiking, biking, and camping needs.
- Running Tips is a site with running information for runners of any level. They offer a free running related newsletter via email.
- The Springfield Running Center offers a rundown of the prerequisites and basic principles for running a marathon, as well as other tips and links.
